The revamped L'Ortolan reopened in August 2001 after a major refurbishment, giving it an original, new, contemporary image.
At L'Ortolan you will experience superb food at affordable prices in fabulous surroundings. The food is predominantly classical French cuisine with a modern twist.
New chef, Daniel Galmiche launches the next exciting phase in L'ortolan's journey on 2nd August 2003. Prior to joining L'ortolan, Daniel had been executive chef at Harveys in Bristol since 1998.

Pan roasted Scottish scallops with sautéed new potatoes, parmesan crisp and a langoustine
Organic smoked salmon paupiette with a peppery pastry leaf, caviar and marinated cucumber
Pan-fried Perigord duck foie gras with a fig and ginger chutney
Main Courses
Pan roasted Cornish sea bass with candied tomatoes, ravioli of spinach complemented with a balsamic vinegar dressing
Corn fed Anjou pigeon, sautéed new potatoes with sea salt, buttered spinach, and a light jus with herbs and sherry vinegar
Pan-roasted Scottish monkfish on the bone, with braised pork, sautéed salsify and caramelised Pancetta with spices

Roasted figs in honey and rosemary with a goat’s cheese ice cream
Deconstructed bitter chocolate tart and hazelnut ice cream
Tahitian vanilla roasted sweet pineapple, pink peppercorn meringue and grapefruit sorbet
